This Hotpoint at number 2 is very tall at 200cm (that’s well over 6ft!), which means there’s loads of storage space on offer. The fridge holds 210 litres over 4 sturdy shelves and 2 half width salad drawers, which is plenty of room for a big family's weekly shop. The door storage gives you plenty of room for big bottles of milk, yoghurts and jars. It comes with vents in the back wall too, which pump cool air all around the fridge to eliminate hot spots. 

The freezer is a really good size too, with 87 litres of storage. There are 4 see through drawers so you’ll easily find what you’re after. It’s frost free too, so you don’t need to worry about ice building up.

As it has 2 thermostats, you can adjust the temperature in the fridge and freezer separately, and as it's rated A+ for energy efficiency, it’s cheap to run, which makes it one of our best buys. 

My number 3 comes with its very own water dispenser. You don’t need to faff about plumbing it in; just top it up as and when it’s running low and you’ll have chilled water on demand. It should encourage your kids to drink more water than pop too!

Like the one above, it's very tall at 190cm, which means there’s loads of storage space. The fridge holds 166 litres and has 4 sturdy shelves as well as a big salad drawer. This is plenty of room for a family of 4 or more. The door storage is slightly compromised by the water dispenser, but there’s still room for big bottles of milk, yoghurts and jars.

The freezer won't let you down either. You get 94 litres of storage in 4 see through drawers, so you’ll easily find what you’re after and there’s a separate thin pull out shelf just for ice cube trays. You can forget about defrosting too as it's frost free too, so will do it all for you.

A+ rated for energy efficiency, it’s going to be cheap to run and you get a wine rack and reversible doors like on the one above too. 

My number 4 looks very cool in stainless steel, which is a bit different from the standard white, and it’s a good size too thanks for clever design inside. There’s an Easy Slide Shelf in the fridge which you can pull right out to grab something from the back. Down in the freezer there’s a Full Open Box, which gives you more access than a standard model. It extends out all the way and you can open it even if the door is only open 90 degrees.

The fridge holds 212 litres across 3 adjustable shelves, while the freezer holds 98 litres, so it’s a great size for the average family.

My number 5 will cost you less than £30 a year to run too thanks to its A+ energy rating, which is impressive when you consider how much room you're getting. It's over 6ft tall and holds 309 litres in total, which is plenty of room for the average family's weekly food shop. 

The fridge is quite a bit bigger than the freezer at 215 litres, so it’s great if you get through more fresh than frozen. It has a crisper box just for your fruit and veg, and you can control the humidity level inside depending on what you're storing. There are also 4 really strong shelves and lots of door storage too.

The freezer holds a more modest 94 litres and is great for the essentials. One of the drawers is really big, so will hold bulkier items like bags of chips. It isn’t frost free, so you will manually have to defrost it, but it's LowFrost, which helps to prevent ice build up by half, and it has a water outlet to make defrosting a bit easier.
