My winner is pretty generous on space.With 67 litres you’ll easily cook for a family of four, and while it’s not quite as big as my number 3, you’re getting a stunning standard of build as you’d expect from Bosch. It’s rated A++ for efficiency too, so you’ll save 20% more than some of the lesser models here on your energy costs.

As well as the electric timer to help you keep track of your cooking, you’ll love the Defrost setting. If you’ve left dinner in the freezer, you won’t have to wait around for it to thaw out. It’s much more hygienic than leaving it on the work surface too.

Unique to Bosch is their 3D Hot Air Grilling. It uses the grill and the fan to give you quick, even cooking, which is brilliant for chicken and fish. Don’t overlook the stainless steel finish on this model either. It’s smart, clean and looks fantastic.

My number 2 Zanussi is the same size as my winner. A whopping 74 litres of space will suit even the largest family, and with the adjustable shelving you’ve got lots of options to get the most out of your space.  It’s A++ rated, which makes it 20% more efficient than most of the models here, and for a larger oven that’s an even bigger achievement. Saving on energy while you’re cooking is a brilliant feature.

The Dual Circuit variable grill means you can opt between a full size or half element, depending on how much food you’re cooking. Not only is great for cutting down on your energy use, but it’ll mean you don’t have to wait for the whole grill to heat up.

Scrubbing away at the oven is a thing of the past with this model, as it has Pyrolytic Cleaning – this basically means it uses high temperatures to burn your oven clean. No effort for you whatsoever.  This Zanussi couldn’t do any more for you if it tried.

My number 3 gives you Neff’s excellent build quality, as well as an innovative design. You’re getting a Slide and Hide door, which you can tuck under the oven to make getting things in and out much easier. Inside you’ve got 67 litres of space- that’s plenty for an average sized family.

It’s got loads of handy functions to help with all kinds of cooking. The Circotherm Fan setting will distribute heat evenly, making it perfect for batch cooking, like biscuits, as you won’t have to swap the trays round. It sucks in air through the back, heats it up, then releases it back into the oven. It's quick and effective. Then there's the conventional setting- great for cooking different things at the same time, as oven will be hotter at the top than the bottom. 

Cleaning will be effortless too, thanks to the CeramiClean liners inside. These absorb dirt and grease, then burn the residue off at a high temperature. You’ll never have to scrub the inside of your oven again.

Truly unique, this model offers some very special features that are definitely worth paying that little bit more for. This Samsung allows you to split the 65 litre oven into two separate spaces. They call it Dual Cook Technology. It comes with a divider which slides into the oven to transform it into two. You’ll be able to cook two dishes at different temperatures at the same time. Of course if you’re cooking a full roast and trimmings for 4 or 5 people, simply slide out the divider and use the space as one.

It’ll save you energy with lower cooking temperatures, as it gives you Fan cooking – not just great for an even heat but you’ll be able to reduce your cooking times too. Great if you’re need to prepare something quick and easy.

You’ll never have to scrub for hours to keep this at its best, as it comes with Steam Cleaning. Run the cycle with the touch of a button and the fine water particles breakdown any tough marks so it’s extremely easy to wipe away dirt and grease.

Holding 65 litres in capacity, you're getting a fantastic deal with this Beko. If you’ve got a lot of mouths to feed this model is fantastic value as you’ll easily get your Sunday roast and trimmings in. It’s also good to know that this model isn't going to cost the Earth to run. The A rating for efficiency means this model is savvy with your electricity.

If you’ve forgotten to get dinner out of the freezer, don’t worry. This Beko comes with a very handy Defrost Feature which will thaw out your food in a third of the time – and you don’t need to leave it out on the work surface. You’ll love the grill too. It’s the full width of the oven so it’s great for large quantities, and if you want to combine it with the Fan oven, you’ll get some really tasty results.
