Very generous on drum space, my number 1 Hoover is excellent if you like getting lots done at once. You’ll get 40 T-shirts in the 8kg for each wash. That's very impressive for an integrated model. If you’re combining your wash and dry into one cycle, you’ll be able to get 25 T-shirts (around 5kg) of clothes clean and ready to wear at once. The combined load has to be smaller so your fabrics dry faster.

Saving time is a big feature with this model too. If you need 5 or 6 items cleaning in a hurry, this machine gets them washed in just 29 minutes. It’s invaluable if you need a couple of uniforms cleaning before school the next day.

It’ll help you save money as well, thanks to the Half Load function. It weighs up the size of each load, then automatically adjusts the water and energy use. It won't let anything go to waste and your clothes come out just as clean as a full wash.

This Zanussi lets you wash and dry 4kg of clothes in one go, without having to come back to your machine halfway through. For a full washing load, you’ll be able to get up to 35 T-shirts into the 7kg drum, and to dry, it’ll take 4kg which works out to around 12 T-shirts. Wet clothes need more space to move around in the drum, which is why drying loads are always smaller.

Thanks to the fuzzy logic system, your washes always come out as clean as possible, even the really grubby clothes. By adjusting water level, temperature and cycle length to suit the clothes you’ve loaded in, you’ll get a really thorough wash every time.

My winner does the basics really well and I think the price is fantastic too when you think how much room it gives you. The 7kg drum fits up to 35 T-shirts in per wash cycle. Your drying needs more space, so it takes a smaller 5kg load of around 15 T-shirts. It’s the perfect size for a 3 or 4 person family.

It’s particularly good for Woollens and Silks thanks to the dedicated gentle cycles. Plus they'll save you time and the cost of taking them to the dry cleaners. 

You’re getting a 6.5kg drum, which lets you wash around 32 T-shirts per load – a good size for a 2 or 3 person home. For drying you’ll need a little extra space for your clothes to move around, as it'll help your clothes to dry faster. This means it’ll take a 5kg load/15 T-shirts per drying cycle.

Excellent if you need to save time on your laundry, my number 5 comes with a 32 minute quick wash. It’s best used on lightly soiled clothes – like your work shirts you've only worn once – though if your clothes need a longer soak you've got all the normal cotton and synthetic cycles too.

To save even more time there’s a Rapid wash and dry cycle which will get your clothes clean and dry in just 59 minutes. Extremely handy if you need some school uniforms or sports kits ready to wear quickly. It’s made to be used with a 4kg load, though if you’re just washing you’ll get up to 30 T-shirts inside the 6kg drum no problem.

You’re even getting a range of dedicated wash options for things like your woollens and delicate fabrics. It uses low temperatures and gentle spins to make sure your finer fabrics don’t get stretched out of shape.
