People may not be aware of the high sugar content in cereals, according to a new study that looks at 100 of the top brands.
Consumer watchdog Which? says eight per cent of the cereals it tested could be considered healthy – but 31 per cent contain over four teaspoons of sugar in one regular-sized serving.
The worst offender was found to be Morrisons Choco Crackles, which have more sugar in one serving than a Cadbury's Flake - and even brands thought to be the healthy option fell foul of the researchers.
"Starting the day with Special K, for example, would be almost the sugar equivalent to waking up to a bowl of Tesco's Dark Chocolate Fudge Cake Ice Cream," the report noted.
Of course, one way to make sure you wake up to a fresh and healthy breakfast is to ensure the right items are in your fridge each day.
The A-rated Bosch
KIV38A51GB fridge-freezer can help with this, as the unit is equipped with frost-free technology that could stop items like grapefruits and oranges becoming damaged.
