Quality-hungry food shoppers offered online market

A new service could provide budding chefs the chance to fill their fridges and freezers with the best available ingredients.

The launch of the Virtual Farmers Market (VFM) will offer locally-sourced meats and fish as well as tea, coffee, bread and olive oil - providing cooks with a more diverse selection of products through an online shopping portal.

It is hoped food and drink lovers will take advantage of the VFM website's many award-winning suppliers, which include a number of Welsh producers such as the Patchwork Traditional Food Company and the Snowdonia Cheese Company.

Marcus Carter, a spokesman for the project, said: "For some people getting to their local market is not so easy so we have created a way of bringing the farmers market experience to them."

He added the convenience of shopping online would interest many, but noted there was also an opportunity to "actually feel part of the market" by interacting with the various retailers featured on the site.

With a 58-litre capacity, the Bosch HBM56B550B double oven may be of interest to larger families looking to make the most of their ingredients - and a child safety lock can also help protect its younger members.
