Electrolux - Ground House Project

Electrolux will be supplying the kitchen appliances for the Ground House Eco build project in France that will be featured on the Grand Designs programme aired on Channel Four in February 2009. The purpose of the project is to build a house in the most environmentally friendly way using the most eco friendly materials with the end result in mind of having a house that is very energy efficient to run.

Electrolux have been chosen to provide energy and water efficient kitchen appliances for the project and they will be providing the EKM60570X ‘A’ rated cooker, an AEG-Electrolux L86850 washing machine and AEG-Electrolux SU96000-5i ‘A’ rated under counter built in fridge – all eco friendly and cost efficient to equip the kitchen.

The Ground House was featured in a recent Sunday Times article as one of Kevin McCloud’s top 5 projects since the series began 10 years ago. It’s built from 1,000 car tyres filled with earth, insulated with recycled glass and plastic and needs just one small stove to keep it warm. Solar tiles provide the hot water.
