Whirlpool appliances in the UK’s first ever eco kitchen

Oxford based ‘greener living’ education charity COIN and eco consultancy SEED-Group, have teamed up to run a series of workshops throughout the year to teach people about greener living. The workshops are taking place in the country’s first ever public eco kitchen set within an eco refurbished cottage, and Whirlpool UK have donated two appliances to the purpose built kitchen. A Whirlpool four zone induction hob and the AKP957 built-under oven will be used to demonstrate to home owners how to built, design and furnish economically friendly kitchens.

If you are an eco conscious type (which should be all of you!) and are interested in adapting the least environmentally friendly room in the house and learning new ‘green’ habits, then these workshops will be ideal for you. However as the cottage is based in Oxon near Oxford, it might not be too ‘eco friendly’ to attend if you live in Scotland… so for more eco friendly appliance ideas, check out the Whirlpool 6th Sense range; the new range of energy efficient fridge freezers, washing machines and dishwashers uses intelligent ‘6th sense’ technology to ensure the appliances always achieve optimal performance.

Hopefully other organizations will soon follow suit and we’ll see more ‘green living’ workshops such as this across the country.
