When you’re fitting new kitchen appliances into your kitchen one of the first requirements is that it’s the right size. When looking at cookers most people need it to be around 90cm tall because that is the height of most kitchen worktops.
Cookers of 90cm therefore refer to the width of the appliance, which is much more variable. The average cooker stands at 60cm wide – as do most other kitchen appliances such as fridges and washing machines. Although some people do opt for bespoke heights and widths this general uniform stature allows for ease of installation in every household.
A 90cm cooker is most likely to relate to the width of a range cooker – although this tends to be the smallest range style cooker. Range cookers are much larger than the average cooking appliance and offer much more room to cook. They often have extra storage facilities and cooking appliances such as griddles for the more advanced chef.
Recently launched on Appliances Online is the Britannia range. The Britannia SI-9T6-E-S Dual Fuel Range Cooker is 90cm wide, with two oven cavities and six burners – big enough for your Christmas turkey and all the trimmings.
