Is bigger always better? That’s the question on everybody’s lips when their buying a washing machine. Ok, so you can go as big as 11kg – but is that strictly necessary? In smaller households I would suggest perhaps not but bigger families may well benefit from it. So how can you choose the right washing machine size for your family?
1. How many people live in your house?
Singles or couples simply do not require a large washing machine size (unless you’re running some sort of B&B). A larger household will need a big washing machine in order to avoid constant piles of laundry building up. Families of four or five can manage with an 8kg model. If you have the right cycle you can even wash a queen sized duvet in there!
One popular 8kg washing machine is the Hotpoint WMD940A. This washing machine comes in a choice of colours; black, aluminium, silver and white to match your other appliances. With its energy efficient A rating, the Hotpoint WMD940A will help drive down your utility bills.
2. What do you need to wash?
Do you wash your own duvets or take them to the laundrette? How many school uniforms and work shirts do you wash per week? Follow the handy table below to find out what washing machine size you require. It relates to man-sized T-shirts so remember if you’re cleaning children’s clothes you’ll be able to fit much more in.
