Why the WVD24460GB isn’t an entry level washer dryer

This week Bosch released their new washer dryer in the Avantixx range, the WVD24460GB. Kate wrote a post on the launch of Avantixx at the end of March but for anyone that doesn’t know it’s a family of Bosch appliances that sit between the entry level Classixx and the mid-range Exxcel groups.

The interesting thing about the WVD24460GB, apart from the fact that it’s so new, is that because Bosch don’t have a Classixx washer dryer it’s technically an entry level machine – which is ridiculous.

So before anyone makes the mistake of dismissing it out of hand here are four reasons why the new Avantixx washer dryer is more than just a “budget buy”.

  1. 3D AquaSpa – water enters the drum from three angles at once. This doesn’t sound impressive but it was developed to be used in high end Logixx machines and means you can get a quicker, better wash and rinse on every cycle.
  2. Autodry – load your clothes, press go and the drying process stops when they’re finished. You’re far more likely to find automated drying on a tumble dryer than on a combined washer dryer so seeing it on an “entry level” machine is a surprise.
  3. Dedicated programmes – of course all washing machines come with more than one programme but how many basic models come with a silk programme, sports wash and 15 minute quick wash?
  4. Two year warranty – Bosch are willing to put their money where their mouth is and are giving away a free two year warranty with every Avantixx washer dryer.

We don’t have any reviews for the WVD24460GB because it’s so new but if you want to know the kind of things people are saying about Bosch washer dryers then check out reviews for the slightly older WVD24520GB.

Of course if you disagree with anything I’ve said feel free to leave a comment.
