This month’s edition of Which? has just been released and if you’re looking for a washing machine or hob then it is well worth a read.
For anyone that doesn’t know, Which? are an independent consumer group. This means that they don’t sell advertising space on their website or in their magazine and don’t have an agenda which makes their reviews about as impartial as it’s possible to be. People in the white goods industry get very excited when a new edition of the Which? magazine comes out; because if they give you a thumbs up, then you’ve done a good job.
In this month’s edition Which? test fast washing machines and look at the compromises that get made whenever you select a time saving option. As well as grading 20 appliances on 10 categories (including noise level, energy use and brand reliability) they take a closer look at six of the models they reviewed which is great if you want to weigh up pros and cons.
Just scanning the price column on the top 10 it’s easy to see a trend towards more expensive machines with the 11kg LG F1443KD leading the field (more evidence to say it is arguably the best washing machine on the market) but the Beko WME7247 has put in an absolutely amazing performance for an entry level machine. As well as being one of only three models to get five stars for its easy care programme, it performs well across the board and gets the same score as machines which are twice the price.
The June edition also includes the 2010 Which? awards (with quite a surprise in the best retailer category) as well as a top 100 of high street retailers as rated by 14,000 people. As I said at the top of the article if you’re looking for hobs or washing machines it is definitely worth reading but also if you want to know more about money, motoring, music, sustainable fish, detergent liquids, digital photo frames, child car seats, TVs and credit cards to name just a few of the items that get looked at in this month’s issue.
