This week’s user review comes courtesy of Leximonkey, the proud owner of an RSH1NHMH. This model is no longer available and has been replaced by the RSH5SHMH – which would normally mean that the review is redundant however it does raise two interesting points about American fridge freezers in general. As per usual the review is presented in its entirety and the only editing was for minor errors in grammar.
I have had my fridge freezer for almost a year now and am still very happy with my purchase. I wanted a larger fridge so that when I entertained there was plenty of room and I have managed to get rid of my old chest freezer, so created more room!
The freezer does require more planning to get everything in (would not recommend if needed for a large family) and can only fit in smaller size pizzas if that is important. At times it makes a little more noise, nothing untoward but noisier than my old fridge, although it is only for short periods of time.
Overall people still comment how good it looks and it is serving me well.
The first point that needs addressing is that the freezer cavity might not be able to hold the largest of pizzas. This is true for most American fridge freezers because of the vertical split between the cavities makes them very tall but quite thin as well. Fortunately the RSH5SHMH comes with removable shelves so you can squeeze large pizzas in if you’re willing to sacrifice shelf space.
The second is that frost free freezers will periodically make some noise. Again this isn’t peculiar to the RSH1NHMH and is perfectly normal as the machine runs through its defrost cycle. It’s not an obscene amount of noise and after living with it for a week or two you’re probably not going to notice the difference. The alternative is a manual defrost.

Editor's note; the product featured in this blog post is no longer available. Fortunately Samsung have released even better versions of their large capacity fridge freezers which can be found here.
