If you’ve forgotten Father’s Day then there’s still enough time to get to the shops and buy something. If you want something from Appliances Online there might even be time to get it delivered with our next day delivery. If however you read this, make a mental note to get a Father’s Day present and then promptly forget about it until Saturday evening - then this post is ideal for you.
Here are three tips for last minute and improvised Father’s Day presents.
Supermarket staples – whether it’s whiskey, flowers, a book or a new razor you can normally find something with a trip to the supermarket at 9.45 on Saturday night . But buying a present straight off the shelf can seem insincere so why not spice up your gift by presenting it as a hamper? Grab a dvd/book, his favourite drink and some snacks and you’ve got an instant quiet night in. Or for a foodie alternative pick out two nice cuts of beef, some tuna steaks and a bag of frozen chips for a build-your-own surf ’n’ turf for himself and someone special.
A card and a surprise meal out – fairly self explanatory. The best thing about a surprise meal out is that if you can get a table you can make it look like you had it planned all along. Be warned that this almost never works for Mother’s Day which, after Christmas and Valentines, is the busiest day of the year for many restaurants.
Electronic vouchers – if you don’t even have time to leave the house then go online and head over to somewhere like Amazon or Firebox for the online equivalent of a book token. At most retailers you can either print the details off at home or have them sent straight too his email address. This works best if your Dad is a pragmatic man who doesn’t mind the lack of occasion but appreciates the gift.
