Happy Recycle Week!

A cynic might see Recycle Week as being somewhere between National Nest Box Week and World Town Planning Day on a scale of importance of yearly events. You might be fed up of being bombarded with messages to go green and look after the planet. Or even think that the whole global warming/over filled landfill/carbon footprint thing has been blown out of proportion by an alarmist media. And if so, why bother with Recycle Week?

Heart disease.

The British Heart Foundation is the official Recycle Week charity partner and are collecting unused but working electrical goods including everything from smoothie makers, bread machines and chocolate fountains to fridges, washing machines and TVs.

Donate an appliance to them and they will then test it before selling it on to raise money for their charity work. If you have a large item you want to donate then call them on 0844 412 5000 to ask for details or visit the BHF Recycle Week page.

Whether you’re an advocate of recycling or not it’s hard to argue against helping out the BHF; after all they have spent 45 years helping beat Britain’s biggest killer.

And for anyone who’s not a cynic...

You should definitely check out the Recycle Now website for loads of information on Recycle Week including practical advice and some interesting tidbits.

And feel free to check out our recycling page.
