Did you know that 64% of range cookers sold are dual fuel? Gas only has a 22% market share and electricity a paltry 14%.
There is a very good reason for this skew and that’s because dual fuel ranges (like the Leisure CMTF94 we featured yesterday) benefit from the best of both worlds. They get the power and response of a gas hob with the control and versatility of an electric oven.
But as induction hobs become more popular do high tech ranges like the Stoves Richmond 1100E spell the end for dual fuel? Probably not. Although the Richmond 1100E is a stunning machine with an induction/ceramic mix hob there is still a large demand for range cookers with a country feel to them – and nothing says farmhouse kitchen quite like a gas hob.
