Electrolux Design Lab jury announced

One of my favourite topics of discussion for the past few months has been this year’s Electrolux Design Labs; an international design competition which invites contestants to present unique solutions to modern problems. This year entrants were challenged to address the problems of urban living with a view to developing a product that could be in homes for 2050 – by which point it is estimated that that 74% of people will live in an urban area.

This week the panel of judges have been announced and include international young designer of the year Benjamin Hubert, Ineke Hands a leading designer from the Netherlands, Henrik Otto the Senior VP of Global Design at Electrolux and Jon Marshall, a prolific designer whose clients include Levi, Coca Cola, Sony and Panasonic.

The panel will be assessing the finalists as they present their ideas on the 23rd of September and no doubt I will be posting a link to the winning idea as and when it is announced.
