They say that when judging reviews you should discount both the best and the worst to get a fair reflection of the item under consideration. While this undoubtedly holds true for 99% of all products it simply does not work for the Hotpoint DE47X because it seems that everyone loves it.
As well as checking our reviews for this stainless steel double oven I also went and asked the internet. I found a total of 32 reviews of which only three gave it a score of less than 70%. After all that research I can tell you without doubt that the reviews below are an excellent sample of what people are saying about the DE47X.

"After 34 years of marriage where every attempt at cakes and sponges failed miserably, I have just made the most fabulous Victoria Sponge ever seen! A Stepford wife at last! I might even join the W.I All thanks to my lovely new oven. Great roomy oven. Yes, I have to stretch up to see numbers on dial but this is cancelled out by overall performance. I am WELL pleased!"

"Bought this as it was largest double oven. Very happy with appearance, performance and ease of use. Only slight downside is that the temperature for each dial is printed on the dial itself - so if you're short (like me) it can be difficult to see the exact temperature you've set. Other than that, I'm extremely pleased with this oven - I do a lot of cooking - both baking and grilling and this does the job superbly."

"I have never bought anything made by Hotpoint before but I looked at a lot of cookers and I found Hotpoint did the largest oven as I have a big family and do a lot of baking. My other cooker I bought didn’t cook evenly. I never liked it so I wasn’t happy till I changed it. I just wished someone would have told me about this cooker. I can’t fault it, it’s the best buy for a long time and I would give it 100% satisfactory."
Trawling through the review sites I saw several people complaining about the temperatures for the controls being awkward to see (especially if you’re of a modest height) however even people who slammed the DE47X for the design of the controls praised it for its performance and would recommend it to a friend.
