How to convert a cooker to LPG

If your house isn’t connected to mains gas you’ll be looking for an LPG compatible cooker. Many cookers can be converted to LPG relatively simply using a converter kit however these change must be implemented by a gas safe registered engineer.

If you’re running your appliance on LPG, remember to ask the following questions before you buy a gas cooker:
1. Is it LPG convertible?
2. Is the converter kit included?
3. If it’s not included how much will it cost?

RCM10FR dual fuel range cookers are LPG convertible however the conversion kit is not included as standard with the appliance and must be ordered separately. This manual states the conversion from Natural Gas to LPG must be undertaken by a qualified engineer. Tip: ask the plumber who installs your appliance to carry out this task too.

If you are a gas safe registered engineer looking to convert the RCM10FR to LPG gas follow the instructions below. Please note that for other cookers this process may vary.
1. Replace the natural gas orifices with their LPG equivalents
2. Check gas soundness
3. Take out the top lid, remove the burner plate and remove the control panel
4. Ignite the burner that should be adjusted, turn the knob to the reduced position
5. Adjust the reduced rates of the burners
6. Hob burners – Adjust screw A to obtain flame length of about 5mm (adjust each burner separately)
7. Oven burner – Adust screw B half a turn clockwise
8. Set oven thermostat to 1
9. Ignite oven burner
10. Close oven door and wait 10 – 15mins for thermostat to operate
11. Adjust screw B to obtain a flame length of 2-3mm

For more detailed info see the Leisure manual for RCM10FR.
