Belling introduces the FSE60i – the first freestanding cooker with induction hob

Not too long ago induction cooking was included in only the richest kitchens, a mod con few could afford, even despite its energy efficiency, safety benefits and ease of cleaning.

So what’s so hot about induction cooking?

• Safety – induction cooking increases the safety of cooking because, by using electromagnets, it’s the pan, not the hob that warms up. This means that when you touch the hob after cooking it will be merely warm. The FSE60i also offers a child lock, pan detection technology and pan overheat sensor which prevents the cooking zone from reaching a dangerous temperature. And, in case you accidentally leave this appliance on, it features a safety device which automatically shuts down all cooking zones.

• Energy efficient technology – because only the surface touching the pan is warmed up no energy is lost when you’re cooking on an induction hob. So you only use the amount of electricity it takes to heat up a pan – and no more.

• Speed – the induction hob operates far more quickly than its ceramic or gas counterparts. On the induction hob water can be brought to boiling point in a matter of just 15 seconds.
  In addition, the FSE60i boasts a griddle zone on the hob for more varied cooking. Below the hob you’re granted one multifunctional electric oven and one conventional oven, both of which are A energy rated. The upper cavity can be operated as a conventional oven or used as a dual circuit grill. The main oven has a comprehensive nine functions including a fan oven, defrost function and pizza function.
