Watch Big Brother? Take a closer look at the BB appliance guide
The 2011 series of Big Brother started on Thursday 18th August with a Celebrity Big Brother special. Whether you are a fan or not, there is no doubt that Big Brother has formed an influential part of TV culture in recent years. It’s cult TV at its best and you can’t get away from it, no matter how hard you may try.
With such a huge fan base and substantial media following, the opportunity for exposure it offers to publicity-hungry celebrities or wannabes is immense. But did you stop to think about the publicity it can give to appliances?
Well, we at appliancesonline.co.uk did and we’re keen to see which appliances have been given Big Brother’s seal of approval. So, sit back and enjoy our tour of the BB house 2011.
As with most homes, the appliances in the Big Brother house are mostly confined to the kitchen and the first thing you’ll see is the fridge freezer. Imposing and double breasted, this fridge makes a big statement.
If you’re the kind of housemate that likes to make an impact, check out our Hotpoint Quadrio FF4DX in stainless steel. It’s very similar to the one in the BB house. If you like the layout with the freezer drawers at the bottom with a split door fridge above, the stainless steel Hotpoint Quadrio is ideal. It also comes in a more matte ‘gun metal’ finish, the Hotpoint Quadrio FF4DSB. Both are A rated for energy efficiency, have acres of space and use innovative I Care technology to keep the fridge at the optimum energy level depending on the contents.
The convenience of a four-door layout, a double-door refrigeration area and large pull-out freezer drawer make access really easy. And, most importantly, you’ll certainly look the part on-set, I mean in your house, with this ultra fridge freezer – wowzer!

In the world of cooking, it looks like Belling has come up trumps for Big Brother 2011. The oven of choice is the Belling BI60F 60cm built-in oven. Its monochrome fascia, with a fashionable white trim, fits in perfectly with the modern BB kitchen. And it’s available from appliancesonline.co.uk in three colours; the completely black model, the black with stainless steel trim, or, as they’ve chosen in the BB house, the B160F with white trim. Belling is British-made and seems to me to be the perfect hybrid of quality manufacturing and bold modern design. Have a peek at the B160F below and check out the whole range of Belling built-in ovens here.
Another beauty in the BB house also comes from Belling; the 60cm four-zone induction hob. It is almost identical to our Belling IH60 induction hob. Big Brother are leaders in technology and have opted for induction cooking. Fast, energy efficient and effective, induction cooking is the way forward. Not to mention, the hob’s simple frameless design looks swanky and makes cleaning extra easy. See our whole range of induction hobs here.
