No, it’s not the stuff that an Appliances Online employee’s dreams are made of. This place does actually exist. In Abingdon, Oxford, there is Smeg-land. A 400m² showroom displaying some of Smeg’s most desirable and demanded appliances. (It’s not actually called Smeg-land, that’s just my affectionate term for it.)

People who are interested in purchasing Smeg appliances and want to see them in all of their glory can visit this Smeg showroom (by appointment only). Customers can spend some time with an employee with a broad range of knowledge about everything from laundry to cooking to cooling. They can offer you advice on cleaning and maintenance, the features, functions and programmes that would be useful to you, and the different models and designs that are available.

It isn’t possible to purchase from the showroom – it has been created purely to offer potential customers the opportunity to touch and view the appliances prior to purchasing. Smeg want to help you make an informed choice to guarantee that you select the correct appliance for your household. On my visit to Smeg-land, I was particularly impressed with the FPD34RS-1 Piano design fridge freezer, with chrome baskets in the freezer and 3 internal neon lights. I also loved the fact that the Linea hobs will soon have interchangeable dials to ensure a perfect match for the rest of your kitchen. Of course, the ultimate item that I came across on my visit to Smeg-land has to my age-old favourite – the pink FAB32QRO fridge freezer. It’s pink! And a fridge freezer! What more could you want?
