Save time and energy with this spin dryer

A great little space saver, this spin dryer is only 62cm tall. That means it will fit nicely into a cupboard or somewhere out of the way. Instead of using hot air to get your clothes dry it uses speed, which makes it super cheap to run. It’s loads faster than a standard tumble dryer, reaching up to 2800 rpm. That’s fast! Able to hold up to 4kg of clothes (that’s 12 t-shirts to you and me), you don’t even have to plumb it in. Just pop the hose into a sink and away you go.

Want to know more about Spin Dryers

Spin Dryers

Tumble dryers are available as condenser or vented models. But for an environmentally friendly drying alternative, why not try a spin dryer?

Spin Dryers

Condenser tumble dryers can be placed anywhere in your home, as the water vapour extracted from your clothes during each drying cycle is condensed into an easy to remove and empty water tank. A great example of one of our most popular condenser tumble dryers is the LG RC9011A

Vented tumble dryers such as the Beko DRVS73W are designed to be installed next to an external facing wall, so that the water vapour extracted from your clothes during the drying process, can be pumped outside via a vent hose.

Unlike vented or condenser tumble dryers, spin dryer use centrifugal force to extract the water from your clothes instead of heat.

Spin dryers are commonly used in gyms and swimming pools for customer convenience, so you don’t have to go home with soaking wet swimwear in your bag.

Tumble dryers are one of the biggest consumers of electricity and account for approximately 6-10 percent of household energy. So as most of us are unable to hang our washing out on the line to dry 365 days a year, spin dryers are a perfect alternative. Spin dryers do not need to generate heat, so they use much less energy per cycle than a tumble dryer.

Spin dryers can remove more water in two minutes than tumbler dryers can in 20 minutes. So although spin dryers are not designed to completely dry your clothing until it is ready to wear, they do save significant amounts of time and energy. All you have to do after the spin cycle is over is hang up your clothes for them to dry fully.

If you are interested in buying a spin dryer, some things to look out for are the rotational speed - the higher the better, typically you should look for models with around 2,500 to 3,300 RPM. Water is removed from most spin dryers by gravity, however if you are willing to invest a little more money, some top of the range models come with a pump which speeds up the drying process.

So give a spin dryer a whirl instead, and save some money on your energy bills!

Spin dryers can remove more water in two minutes than tumbler dryers can in 20 minutes.

The perfect example of one of our most popular spin dryers is the Indesit ISDG428. It can be plugged in whenever you need it and can ramp up to light-speeds of 2800rpm! There’s no heat involved as the force of the spin just means all the water is extracted from your clothes as it turns.
