Tabletop Dishwashers

Dishwashers are designed to save you time, money on your utility bills and they are the most hygienic way to clean your dishes.

Tabletop Dishwashers

Dishwashers are available in a number of different sizes. There are full size/standard models with 12 – 15 place settings, which are great for large families.

There are slimline models such as the Hotpoint SDD910K which can wash 8 – 10 place settings at once, which is ideal for cleaning up after a small to medium sized household. Slimline models are also only 45cm wide, so are perfect if you are short on space in your kitchen.

If you live alone or in a small flat/apartment then you can still enjoy the benefits of having a dishwasher. There are table top models that are the size of a microwave and can wash 6 place settings at once.

It takes on average over 11 minutes longer to wash your dishes by hand each day than it does using a dishwasher, so if you are washing up every night that equates to 3 weeks a year washing your dishes by hand. If you were to use a dishwasher instead it would save over 80% of your time, think of all the other more exciting things you could do instead.

You will use on average over 100 litres of water each day if you wash your dishes by hand, whereas dishwashers use just 7-15 litres per cycle. Dishwashers have also been designed to be incredibly flexible, so you will usually only have to run one load a day. Washing up by hand accounts for about 10% of a household's daily water needs, but using a modern dishwasher could reduce this to less than 2%'.

When you wash up by hand you fingers can’t stand much higher temperatures than about 30°C and you have to use a sponge or cloth, which are ideal places for bacteria to breed. Whereas dishwashers use temperatures as high as 75°C so are proven to kill more germs. Select models even come with programmes which can sterilise baby’s bottles as they are designed to destroy 99.9% of bacteria.

Tabletop models are great if you live alone or in a small flat/apartment as you can still enjoy the benefits of having a dishwasher!

If it is a table top dishwasher you are after, then look no further than the Bosch SKS60E02GB. It’s A+ rated for energy efficiency and uses just 7.5 litres of water per cycle.
