When it comes to tumble dryers, there are so many to choose from. Built-in or freestanding? Vented or condenser? Whatever type of space you’ve got, there’s a tumble dryer that will fit perfectly.
Built-In Tumble Dryers
So, let’s see how big built-in dryers are. Although integrated dryers are designed to be put behind your kitchen furniture, that doesn’t mean they’re any smaller than their freestanding counterparts. Every kg of drum size can dry approximately 3 shirts. So a dryer with an 8kg drum can dry 24 t-shirts at once, or a few t-shirts, some skirts, socks and a few pairs of trousers – or whatever your average load consists of.
Features-wise, built-in dryers have all the convenient options that freestanding models have. There’s sensor drying to prevent over-drying, and save on that all-important electricity bill. Reverse tumble action is another great one, as it tumbles the laundry in opposite directions preventing deep creasing.
Whichever built-in model you decide on, make sure that you've got enough space to accommodate it. You may need to leave extra space for the vent hose at the rear.
The most important thing to remember with any tumble dryer is the fluff filter. This needs to be emptied after every use. If you don't do it, your dryer will run much less efficiently.
