Belling Induction FSE60I Electric Cooker Freestanding Stainless Steel

Tomorrows cooking. Today. The Belling Induction FSE60I is a state of the art appliance being one of only a few freestanding induction cookers on the market. The 4 piece induction hob is much more efficient than gas or electric burners and noticeably quicker and safer and cleaning is simple too. And with 35 litres in the top oven/grill and 59 litres in the oven at the bottom there’s plenty of flexibility for larger families.

Belling FSE60I

A certain popular TV chef likes to mix science in with his cooking; the results are often fantastical but rarely achievable...until now. With the 4 burner induction hob on top of this electric cooker, your very own science experiment is available for your home. Induction hobs work via an electromagnetic reaction between the hob surface and an element in the pan. This ingenious process means the hob never in fact heats up and heat is only retained in the pan.

Induction is not only cool and scientific but also incredibly easy to control and energy efficient. Unlike gas hobs which cover a pan base with heat, induction only heats the exact surface area of the pan. It’s so quick that a small amount of water can be boiled in just thirty seconds. Kind of puts your kettle to shame, doesn’t it?

With such a revolution as the induction hob, it’s often easy to forget the other fantastic features of this electric cooker. The top cavity is a 35 litre oven and grill, ideal for a small meal or a fantastic grilled breakfast. The main cavity is a 59 litre conventional oven. Whether it’s using the fan (no preheating and quicker cooking times) or the conventional oven setting (for the traditionalists) so flexibility is very much on the menu.

If you’re truly ready to be ‘inducted’ into this new revolution in cooking then the Belling FSE60I is the smart option. It’s the catch of the day, the gourmet delight and that little something special your food has been looking for.

Please Note: This may not be supplied with a cable as it requires hardwiring which will be provided by a registered electrician. Induction hobs also require special pans in order to work properly.

"Great induction hob!"

Pros: Quiet, Easy to use, Good build quality, Value for money

Cons: cleaning above the grill

"The induction hob makes this cooker the best we have ever owned. It is very quick, responsive and easy to keep clean.

The ovens are fine with lots of settings, but the linings above the grills are very difficult to keep clean. On our old cooker, you could pull out a plate above the grill and clean it separately."

"fantastic hob"

Pros: Quiet, Easy to use, Good build quality, Value for money, easy to clean

"I ummed and errred for ages before choosing the Belling induction hob double oven. I couldn't quite believe that it could be as responsive as gas. But it really is. And the added safety features (e.g. hob doesn't come on unless pan is on it, goes off immediately pan is lifted) are great. And so easy to clean. Having two ovens is great. The bottom fan oven is the one we use the most. It's big enough for most things including the Xmas turkey and v quick to heat up. Top oven is a bit slow to preheat but useful for grilling. All in all - we are very pleased with the Belling."

"Best cooker we've owned"

Pros: Quiet, Easy to use, Good build quality, Value for money, stylish

Cons: not easy to clean above the grill

"Thank you Belling for making a cooker with an induction hob. It's fast, clean and very easy to regulate temperature. And it senses where the pan is so you don't waste energy. The hob and ovens are easily cleaned but I agree with the previous reviewer about not being able to clean above the grill easily. The main oven has a plethora of settings (including slow cook and intensive pizza options) and having had my last Belling cooker for about 8 years the new one takes some getting used to! I found the handbook clear and useful in explaining what the settings are for and how to use them. This is a stylish and efficient cooker and is undoubtedly the best we've ever owned. And it's made in Britain."

"Excellent Hob."

Pros: Quiet, looks good, hob fantastic, hob easy to clean

Cons: main oven complicated, ovens difficult to clean

"The hob is brilliant. It heats up virtually instantly (using boost feature), and is easy to control with the zone settings being visible as illuminated numbers on the hob. The hob is very easy to keep clean, as spillages do not burn on.

That said , the rest of the cooker is disappointing.

This is our third Belling cooker, the last being a Belling Format, whose construction " knocked spots " off this one.

The control panel has small, white-on- black numbers, is not back lit, and is set at a difficult angle to read (especially if you wear bifocals, as I do).

The ovens are smaller than the Format and have far lewer shelf posiitions, therfore less flexibility. They are also difficult to clean. The instruction booklet told us to remove the shelf runners prior to cleaning, incidentally the shelves are not as stable as those in the Format were. When I attempted to do so it was impossible, as the fittings are not intended to be removed. I contacted Belling and was told the instructions were for the previous model!

The grill pans with the Format had feet which fitted into the shelves, affording stability, and the shelves only pulled partially out before locking. There is no such safety aspect with the 60fsi merely a warning in the booklet.

Yes, the main oven does have many facilities, but in practice we only use a few, and are struggling to master those. The fan oven appears to be slower and cooler than our previous one, hence the difficulties. You are cooking by guesswork!

Finally, a point to note; we had no idea that there wasn't a plinth and the feet were visible as none of the advertising photographs showed this.

It may be worthwhile taking advantage of the extended warranty, as it will probably be expensive to repair."
