"Nice Fridge!"

Pros: Value for money, looks good, plenty of space, lots of ice on tap

"I've had this fridge for a few weeks now, and so far, so good! It has loads more space than my previous traditional narrow top and bottom fridge-freezer. Even the freezer has more space, despite the ice-maker. It's nice to have a light in the freezer, and the drawers are a nice touch. Setting the freezer to -20 and putting ice cream in door shelves yields ice cream that's perfect for scooping straight out of the freezer.

One slight disappointment is that the water from the water dispenser is not chilled by the fridge - it comes out at mains temperature. But this turns out not to be important because you can always add lots of ice and get a really cold drink.

The ice maker is excellent. It's great to always have loads of ice on tap. The ice crusher could be better - it makes randomly sized lumps and chips - but normally I use cube mode. These are not really cubes but larger blocks. The ice maker is noisy at first but as the bucket fills the ice doesn't drop as far from the ice tray so it gets quieter. It drops about 8 big cubes into the bucket every 45 minutes to an hour -- this doesn't sound much but after a couple of days you have a massive bucket full of ice that is always kept topped up.

Plumbing in is straightforward. Provided is a single 1/4 inch flexible tube that's about 4-5m long. If the tube is the wrong length for you it's a standard item from a DIY store. Being thin and flexible it's easy to route it through walls and kitchen cupboards to the water inlet, drilling only small holes. You need to cut a T-piece into your water inlet and add a valve to isolate it, then use the included adaptor to convert to the right size for the 1/4 inch tube. Included is a water filter that is added in-line with the 1/4 inch tube. This does not attach to the fridge. I put mine at the back of a kitchen cupboard. Clips to attach it are provided. The water filter needs replacing every 6 months.

It's louder than my previous fridge and there are fans that run all the time even when the compressor is not running. But it's nothing too obnoxious.

It's just a shame most British kitchens aren't designed for fridges this size, but if you can fit one in, it's convenience like Americans really know how to do."

"Excellent Choice"

"We really shopped around before buying and we are so pleased we opted for this fridge. Not only does is look great apart from getting used to the humming noise we could't have asked for anything better. Plenty of space and easy to clean. Love the colour as it doesnt show up smears like black appliances. Really good buy."

"Excellent quality for price"

"This high quality fridge does everything well. It is probably one of the cheapest american fridges that does both ice and filtered water but I cannot see the need to spend more money as it is excellent. One bad point I would say is that getting ice is a noisy experience and don't leave the ice cube maker on through the night as it sounds like a mini avalanche when the cubes are dropped."

"Fantastic"

"Great fridge freezer. Loads of storage in both compartments, my first American style fridge and I'm not dissapointed with my purchase. The only thing I didn't realise is that the filter had to be placed and secured outside of the fridge. Also I'm a little disappointed with the crushed ice option it still throws out huge full cubes of the ice and little properly crushed ice, also it can launch the ice across the room if your not careful. Those are the only negatives and overall I love love love the fridge and it keeps everything for a lot longer than my old fridge just costs a fortune now to fill it!! Would recommend."

"Ordered this Samsung American fridge freezer on a Saturday at 2pm I received a phone call 8pm that evening stating the item would arrive the following morning which I thought was great and very quick, then I got another call 8 am the next morning from the delivery driver saying he was 20 minutes away and true to his word it arrived 20 minutes later the best service I have ever received I was very impressed. I would highly recommend the fridge and the service I received"
