"Good size cooking top and rings.

Aluminium top difficult to keep clean.

Scorching of aluminium backplate near burner.

Burners stain and burn easily and impossible to clean completely.

Ditto for pan stands.

Grill inconvenient and difficult to use.

Oven difficult to control temperature. Tends to dry out things or burn them if used without fan.

Oven should be self cleaning considering high price of appliance.

Three major repairs had to be undertaken within 18 months of purchasing the appliance."

"Could do better for the price"

Pros: big oven, large fast central burner

Cons: Expensive, poor quality materials, difficult to get clean, grill poorly designed and awkward to use

"Raised oven vent at back of cooker was almost immediately permanently tarnished by a burner in front of it.

Flame spreaders and burner rings very quickly became stained and cannot be cleaned despite following advice and using materials from SMEG customer services.

Scratch marks on top panel where pan stands have rubbed against the steel.

Cooling fan became very noisy after just a few months and had to be replaced.

Three separate controls needed to light grill - ridiculous!

Grill slow to heat up and cooks unevenly.

No proper grill tray with handle provided.

For the price, it could have come with self-cleaning oven panels."

Pros: Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet

Cons: Expensive, dials rub off

"Its annoying that smeg are the only people to do cookers of this width, it means I am locked into buying from them.

One thing that annoyed me is that its foot print is a bot smaller than my previous smeg so while it fits width wise it doesnt butt up against my tiles. Also it isnt as deep meaning I have a small gap at the back.

Cooking wise the grill isn't as hot as my previous smeg. The height adjustments aren't as granular as I would of liked especially at the top towards the grill where small height adjustments would be handy.

The fan assisted cooking is brilliant no complaints there.

The hob is good, the protectors that the pans sit on is very strudy and seems to clean ok. The stainless steel needs to be cleaned regularly and it seems the dials will be scrubbed off over time, same problem I had with the last Smeg. A special cloth and gentle pressure is required I feel.

If your buying this because you have to then its a great oven but if your building a new kitchen and have the choice of ovens and arent restricted to a certain width then go with another brand."

"Pretty but poor quality"

Cons: Noisy

"This cooker looks good and is nice & big but the build quality is rubbish. The original fan was really noisy & was replaced by an engineer. The buttons on the front get stuck, so its really hard to set the timer and the alarm.

Also because its only one big oven its not very efficient. I only bought this because I was replacing an old oven & this is the same size.

Unfortunately I think Smeg go for looks over quality - not recommended."

"The only thing that let's this model down is the hob ring arrangement. Big pans are limited to which rings you can use and if the cooker height is slightly below the work surface height next to the cooker, you'll get scorch marks on the work surface if the hob is on full."
