If Dr Who had a freezer.... The Zanussi ZFT610W has the standard dimensions of a freezer on the outside but opening the door reveals a tardis of extra space. This freezer holds a whopping 91 litres of food despite its small stature, which is great for larger families who lack kitchen space. Under counter freezers are easy to install and because they slot directly under a worktop, they give the illusion of a built in kitchen at a fraction of the price.

Zanussi ZFT601W

In a crisp white colour the Zanussi ZFT610W under counter freezer is a beautiful match for any other white kitchen appliances.

The freezer possesses a wealth of space in which to store your frozen food including three large capacity freezer drawers and one large capacity storage space.

The freezer’s fast freeze function is an asset when you need to quickly chill food – for example after the weekly shop when food has been in a warm car. This ensures your food is chilled quickly and the food already in the freezer retains its temperature.

This appliance also boasts a high temperature warning signal to alert you to abnormally high temperatures in your freezer.

Plus, this appliance has a reversible door so it is simple to install in any space.

"Just the job"

"I needed a modestly-priced under-the-counter freezer to replace an old one that had packed up. It may seem trivial, but I particularly wanted one with a PROPER HANDLE on the door (like my fridge).

I've had previous experience with Zanussi appliances and have found them WELL-MADE AND RELIABLE (I had a Zanussi washing machine that lasted for over 20 years).

This is NOT a FROST FREE freezer: I wasn't looking for one as I know they are smaller inside, more expensive and (according to friends/family) less reliable. That may improve, but for the time being, I am happy to tackle the defrosting chores!

This freezer has 3 DRAWERS (some others have 4), but they a generously sized (made of clear plastic). The freezer elements are between the drawers so the food is frozen evenly.

There's no temperature display, so I've popped a £1.50 freezer thermometer inside to check I have the setting right (no problem).

"Great under surface freezer for the smaller kitchen. Storage drawers are a good size and all pull out giving easy access. No more rumaging in a freezer box!

Downside is its a bit plasticy inside and it feels like the drawers could crack if handled withoput care"

"A tardis pretending to be a freezer"

"Good quality solid built appliance. That looks small on the outside, but when you open it up it has way more capacity than you would expect.

When I first got it I couldn't understand why the ice cream was like a concrete brick even when I adjust the controls. Then I found out how to switch off the super freeze button! :D Since then it has been fabulous. Very pleased with this."
