It’s very careful with your clothes too, as it has a hefty 16 wash programmes. There are gentle washes for your delicates and more thorough ones for messy jeans. Plus, the Eco cycle is cheaper to run- really great if you like to save pennies.

Hotpoint BHWD129

If you have a cosier kitchen and really want the convenience of having your clothes washed and dried for you, then the BHWD129 is definitely the way to go. It has a big 6.5 kg belly, making it the perfect size for a medium sized family.

The Eco wash is all the fashion, making the washer dryer cheaper to run and environmentally friendly. Whether it’s cottons or synthetics you’re washing, the Eco cycle saves you between 50% and 70% of energy by running at lower temperatures. You’ll be doing your bit for the planet every time you switch it on!

This model has a wide array of washing options; 16 programmes to be exact. All types of materials will be carefully taken care of, from shirts, lingerie and delicates, to jeans. The Baby Cycle for example, is specially designed to attack the toughest stains babies and young toddlers can cause. Mud, grease and baby food can be eliminated quickly and effectively.

3 drying programmes make sure all your clothes get dried just as brilliantly as they are washed. Your synthetics, cottons and wool are all taken care of. The dryer even senses how wet your clothes are and stops when they’re dry, so no energy is wasted. There’s also the 5+5kg Wash & Dry Load which washes and dries a full 5kg load in one uninterrupted session! Wow, now that’s fuss free laundry.

The settings and programmes are really simple to use using the funky LED display. You’ll also know exactly how long is left of the cycle with the programme progress indicators, making it easy to plan your next lot of laundry. All in all, a very handy and reliable model, made with families in mind.

"You can ruin clothes, especially woolens, on the 'special cycles' as you cannot cancel the drying part of the programme. The machine must ha ve been designed by a man as it assumes 40 degrees and hot drying for cashmere! Forget about a quick spin - the 'spin only' lasts 16 minutes."

"Really Impressed"

"As the title states I am very impressed with this washer dryer. I originally had a hotpoint washing machine and was installing a new kitchen and due to space decided to buy a washer dryer. The washing machine itself is great - have had no problems with it so far and been using for at least a month. I said that i would use the dryer just in the winter for items such as towels and jeans, trousers etc just the items that take time to dry in the colder months. I would say that with towels even if you just have a few items it takes around 2 hours of drying time, similar time for some trousers and jeans. but still impressed. This has been my first purchase of a washer dryer and I am not dissapointed - have never had a stand alone dryer either so really can't compare. I was a little worried at first as the instructions as not very clear and I was concerned that the dryer would go on automatically - but you just need to make sure that the drying nob is at the no drying cycle which has a / though it (the last nob). Was also a little worried that you could not just do a drying cycle but discovered that you could of course. The only thing i would like to have seen which was on my last hotpoint machine was a half load cycle. There is a quick cycle on this machine so perhaps this is the half cycle load from my last hotpoint machine. Overall very happy with this purchase. On the fast spin it can be a little noisy but again only when you are in the kitchen or in my bathroom which is directly above the kitchen can I hear it. The drum is actually pretty big too which I was a little worried about. At first I thought it could be a little complicated but once you start using it is very straight forward. Although I say during the spin cycle is can be noisy, during the rest of the cycle you would not even know it was on."
