A new study looking at a number of kitchen appliance manufacturers has revealed there are some worthwhile products on the market at the moment.
Consumer Reports looked at a few of the top fridge-freezers, ovens, washing machines and tumble dryers, concluding that in terms of design, affordability and functionality a number of brands were coming out on top.
In addition, it was noted Whirlpool and Bosch dishwashers were able to keep energy usage levels low, while maintaining a price tag suited to a range of different budgets.
Bob Markovich, senior home editor at the publication, said its most recent tests had proved a number of manufacturers were living up to the standards required by the public - particularly in a time of recession.
"If consumers are going to spend, we recommend it be on products you will interact with every day, starting with appliances," he added.
The Bosch SMS63E09UK dishwasher is one example of a model that is A-rated for its cleaning and drying performance.
